The prices are comparable to hard-sided carriers but with several advantages that other carriers don’t offer. Birds stay calmer in the canvas carriers because they can see out while still feeling secluded. The carriers are light weight and easy to carry. They are easy to collapse for shipping or storage yet sturdy enough to contain almost any bird. Birds won’t bruise their heads or bang up their wings as with hard sides. And best of all, it is infinitely quicker and easier to remove a bird safely through the opening in the top. With typical airline style hard-sided carriers you must open the whole side of the carrier and frequently the birds escape past you through the wide opening. Using the flexible access port allows you can adjust the opening to the size of your arm so you can reach in and capture the bird without it zipping past you. Easier for you, safer for the birds.
Our Aviary team uses the carriers exclusively for moving and transporting all small and medium sized birds. The large size is perfect for large pigeons, chickens, pheasants, ducks, Turacos, mot-mots, small and medium sized raptors and many more. The medium and small sizes can be used for any small or medium sized passerines, Coraciformes, etc. Also perfect for holding numbers of small birds like budgies or weavers while catching, inventorying, relocating birds, or medicating. They are not suitable for postal or airline shipments but would work fine for hand delivering birds by car.
